Hi,
Happy Birthday! I wasn't around in the sixties. I was actually born in April of 1970 when Cricklewood Green came out and I believe when the Woodstock movie came out. I was 13 years old when I first saw the Woodstock movie on PBS television and out of all the performers Ten Years After made the biggest impression on me. I bought the Classic Performances of TYA and the first song was "I'd Love to Change the World" and I've been hooked on your music ever since. So, thanks for all the great music you provided us over the years and here's to more great music to come, but more importantly here's to many more happy birthdays for you and the rest of the members of TYA.

Dearest Alvin, you are fabulous at 60! Be proud of all the years you have
lived, laughed, loved, and gained the wealth of experiences that continue
to add such depth and passion to your incomparable music. There's a
time to be young and wild, and a time to grow older and gain in wisdom.
Keep on rockin', Alvin, and you will have the best of both worlds for
years to come in that magnificent great heart of yours. Meanwhile, don't
forget to stay tuned to the message board (oh, yeah! this means YOU!) for
the forthcoming debut (on an as-yet unspecified date, but hopefully quite
soon, maybe even any day now) of the fantastic freewheeling Miss Fanny
Fret-Fandango's long-awaited magnum opus, "Sonnets to a Saguitarius"--
or was that "Sagguitarius"? You'd think that as an English
Teacher's Daughter, I'd finally keep that straight after all these
years! ;-) Lots of love, many blessings, and a very Happy Birthday! Laurie

It means living another year, another year to grow.
Birthdays should be a special time for each to then reflect, on the past and on the present and what the future might expect.
Past-Still can't get over the full length Undead & Fillmore East CD's.
Present- In Tenneesee just Excellent
Future- Please surprise us with a US tour.

Cheers Alvin. ironic that as your birthday approaches my best friend just brought me a new copy of Alvin Lee in Tennessee. after listening to his copy, i guess he went and ordered me one.
Alvin, ive enjoyed your music for many years, and first saw you with Mick and Tom in 78 at Winterland at the KSJO 10th anniversary show. sadly, KSJO went the way of most Clearchannel heisted stations and changed to a Latin format. I was at the SF stop of your most recent US tour in 95, and had tears in my eyes when i saw that Gerry was playing the bass onstage next to you. I miss Rory so, and it was such a moment to see you and Gerry onstage together.
Fillmore East is such a tremendous recording, and Tennessee is just fantastic as well.
hope to see you get out here to the States soon. I was at The Fillmore last Friday. would LOVE to see you booked in that historic venue. ill celebrate your upcoming birthday by listening to Tennessee. Happy Birthday and all of my best wishes. Dante

1973: My brother used to play your songs over and over again as he tried to figure out the guitar parts.:) In the other room his sister (me)happened to be listening in the background and became a huge fan of yours. To this day you are one of the best musicians out there hands down. Rock on and have a great birthday. Cheers from Canada!!

Happy Birthday and many more!
It's been 32 years since I first saw TYA and was blown away by Alvins guitar playing. I hope to get a chance to see him again someday. Any plans on coming to Las Vegas?

Happy Birthday Alvin. I was kind of hoping we'd celebrate with you on stage somewhere near Chicago, but I guess we'll have to wait for that bottle of champagne. Please tour soon.

Hello Alvin,
In keeping with tradition, I'd like to be the first to sign your birthday
page, wishing you all the best on this very special birthday of this very
special year. In 2004, you once again gave us fans some very cherished
gifts, with In Tennessee and an exceptional U.K. tour for us to hold dear.
This year, you truly "put the roll back in rock and roll" for
those of us willing to get up and dance.
Thank you for staying true to yourself, for continuing to grow as a musician,
and for sharing your creativity with us. I've been listening to you
since my teens and on through middle age now, and you have always kept
me rocking. Thank you.
Have the happiest birthday ever. I wish for you a measure of the joy you
have given us these very many years.
Rock on, Alvin,
With love and deep respect,
Toni
